Let me start by saying that I am NOT a hindu extremist. The media has labelled anyone who criticizes MF Hussain- a Hindu extremist. I am proud of my religion. I CAN tolerate insults against my religion. But if the insult is out of hatred and only targeted to hinduism, I will speak out against it.

MF Hussain is one such person who hates Hindu’s. His paintings display a consistent bias against hindu’s. While muslim’s are painted as fully clothed, Hindu’s are painted as nude. Hindu godesses are shown engaging in sexual acts with animals. What is so great about it? I wonder what his daughter thinks about it. Any normal human would be disgusted by those paintings. What is so great about X rated paintings?

I know most of you are shocked by the title. As a hindu, thats the least I can say. His death has had the media singing praises about his greatness. Why isn’t this offensive to Hindu’s? The people who run the newspapers are Hindu’s.. whats wrong with them?

I feel sick by just describing the paintings. But you should know his paintings include: Nude brahmins, bare chested women in compromising positions, decapitated Mahatma gandhi along with naked Hitler… and lots more.

As a secular nation, we hindu’s go out of the way to make sure that we don’t hurt the sentiments of Muslims. The same should be expected of them. Secularism is not a one way street.

Baba Ramdev is a hindu spiritual leader who has popularized yoga and is enormously popular among the masses. He speaks out against government corruption, illegal immigration, exploitation of farmers. Yesterday, one of congress’s leaders accused him of illegal transactions and unaccounted money. I find these allegations utterly reprehensible. He runs charitable organizations. Congress’ policy is to attack anyone who wears saffron clothes.

I watched the verdict on TV and here I have 2 clips that show the chaos:

Scenes like this best describe the image of india that foreigners have. And this is the image that we portray to the world, and we get angry if they point out. I can’t understand how, an event of such great importance, could be bungled.

And this is not something that happened overnight, we had enough time to prepare and organize, but nobody did it, or even if the event was planned, the plan was not adhered. What we saw on TV was disgusting.

These kinds of chaotic, unplanned scenes never happen in developed countries. And I’m not just talking about the west, I’m talking about singapore, malaysia. Those countries got independence at around the same time as us. So the argument “its just been 60 years” don’t hold. Its time we stopped making excuses and take responsibility.
